Our Weekend Away...

Ken and I took off Friday after school and went to my parents' cabin for a little getaway. We arrived when it was dark and were met with a fallen tree blocking the drive. Ken saved the day, found a saw in the cabin and took the tree out. Woohoo!

We brought way too much stuff for a weekend.

Of course the mutt came!

 It was about 60 degrees...

at 2:45 p.m. Perfect!

We took off on the 4-wheelers and saw all of the beautiful colors!

There is a tiny little place on the top of the mountain where you can pick up cell service. Someone made this little sign.

A quick call to my dad.

We did a lot of laying around!

We also discovered that we're getting cabin neighbors. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Our cabin is the one with the green roof. You can see how close the new cabin will be. Hmmmm.

Beautiful!

A view from the deck.

Ken brought up his laptop. Homework, homework, homework.

Ken made great fires,

and some good barbeque.

A picture just for you, Marci.

We could have stayed longer.

But Monday brought school and work. Blah! Glad for a fun weekend away!

For Shari and Alexa...

Makayla's baby shower was today. Since Shari and Alexa live too far away to come, I took my camera along and took some pictures to share.

Peggy had the porch decorated super cute!

She also had 200 balloons in her dining room. I'm not exactly sure why, but it was pretty incredible to see.

Upon arriving, we all had to have a Polaroid taken of us in the dining room. Here's Cortnee!

All of the Polaroids got clipped to this cute board covered in chicken wire.

Also by the door were the parting gifts. Giant cookies all wrapped up cute, of course!

Peggy went ALL out! Here's the view walking into the kitchen. The food was amazing!

You better grab a little scrapbooked bag. It had a fork, knife and napkin. Adorable!

Maddy and Cortnee!
btw... Maddy is doing an incredible job as my student teacher. I just love her!

Here's the mommy-to-be. She looked gorgeous!

There were banners and fun things hanging all over the place.

Cute Peggy. She looks too young to be weeks away from becoming a grandma.

Kristin!

Kim, Shelli, and Melissa!

We called Ken to come over and eat. There was a TON of food!

And last but not least, Jaime!

Makayla's shower was really cute and fun. It was fun to visit with everyone. I'm lucky to be part of this great family! I hope Shari and Alexa felt like they got a little peek at the party.
