Honeymoon - Day 4

Day 4

London

Our day began by going to see Buckingham Palace. Evidently, Queen Elizabeth leaves the palace for a few weeks each summer and they open the palace up for tours. We were able to see several beautiful rooms inside and of course, no photography was permitted. But, we got a lot of really great pictures outside.

This was the 3 hour line for people to get tickets to enter the palace. My smart husband bought tickets online before we left and we waited in the 20 minute line. It was nice!

After we saw Buckingham, we ventured over to see Westminster Abbey. There are more pictures of Westminster that will be posted on day 5. We ended up going back and spending more time there. We got there a little too late to go inside. The doors closed at 3:30 p.m. so we decided to make it a 2 day trip.

A statue of Abraham Lincoln near the abbey. We stopped and ate lunch at his feet a few times.

Big Ben. I have to be honest... it was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. You always see it photographed alone without the other buildings around it. I don't know... it just seemed small.

We walked over to Downing Street to see where the Prime Minister lives.

He lives somewhere in there behind the iron gates and a million guards with machine guns. Yikes!

That night we had tickets to see the broadway Wicked. Ken's mom got them as part of a shower gift for us. Holy cow! We loved it! It was so much fun!!

This was the curtain that hung before the play started and during intermission. The lights on the Emerald City twinkled. It was pretty fun.

Inside the lobby at the theatre. You can't tell from the photo but everything was lit in green lights. The entire interior glowed green. It was really fun!

This dragon hung at the top of the stage and would become animated during certain parts of the play.

This was one of the sides on the stage. Everything was so elaborate. The clock wheels moved and the actors used the platforms on the sides too. It was pretty amazing!

After seeing Wicked, we took a taxi back to the hotel to get ready for day 5.
