Day 10 – A photo of your favorite place to eat.

Yes siree, this is the place!

Here are my top 4 reasons I love to eat at Cheesecake Factory.

1. Bread
Meals must be eaten with bread, I think. They always give you yummy bread and you can always be a big pig and ask for more.

2. Barbecue Ranch Chicken Salad
I always ask for extra crunchy onions on the top.

3. Orange Chicken
Delicious, delicious, delicious! Even MORE delicious with a little extra sauce.

4. Shrimp Scampi
Heaven with a side of pasta.

And for dessert?
Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake for me!

And if I go without Ken, a slice of Linda's Fudge Cake comes home with me just for him.

A close second favorite would be...

I LOVE their Chicken Marsala. Best ever!!

Day 9 – A photo of the item you last purchased.

I'm still continuing my 30 days worth of posts.
You can read about it here.

So today's assignment it to post a picture of the last thing I purchased. Since today is Sunday, my last purchase was made last night. Here you go...

That's right!
It's almost March and I bought a fall wreath last night.
I was out and about and stopped at Robert's Crafts just to see what I could see. I found this wreath sitting on a shelf in the middle of nowhere, and of course it didn't have a tag on it. I took it up to the cashier and she called over the manager. Clearly it's leftover from fall and would have been on clearance a while back. The manager told me she'd sell it to me for $24.00. Although it's a really nice wreath with nuts and berries, I told her there was no way... it was from the fall.
She sold it to me for $6.00.
Score!

It may not do me much good right now, but I will have a new November wreath to junk up in a few months! Woo hoo!

Day 8 – A song to match your mood.

I don't really think I have a song today to match my mood.
Usually Ken tells me I listen to "man hater" music. Evidently, he considers Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos and Amie Mann to all be haters of the male race. I'm just not sure.

Today I've listened to this song a lot. Not sure why, I just have.

Yep. Coldplay's Viva La Vida. It's catchy and I like it.

You can hear it on YouTube if you click here.

Day 7 – Your dream wedding.

My dream wedding.
Let's see...

I would get married in a big castle,

to Prince Charming.

All of my family and friends would be there, along with Charming's Royal Family too!

We would eat some delicious food, fit for a king...

in a big fancy ballroom...

with many of our loved ones.

And of course there would be cake!!

People from all over the kingdom will come and stand in an eternally long line to see the Prince and I.

The only thing that would make this fairy tale better is...

if I were a size 2.

Oh well. Not every fantasy comes true... just the important ones!

I am awesome, yet again...

I'm telling you... I can be pretty darn awesome when it comes to shopping.

Here are a few things about me to know when it comes to shopping...

1.   I love to shop but hate to buy clothes for myself.
2.   I hate to buy shoes because I wear a size 12, and sometimes even that's too small.
3.   I love to buy things for the house.
4.  I hate to pay full price for anything.
5.  I can usually find a pretty good deal.

And the shopping deal from yesterday was this bag...

Ken has mentioned a couple of times that he wanted a new bag for his organ shoes and music. He has a bag, but it's old and faded. It truly is time for him to have a new one. I was at Ross yesterday with my friend Kim. I don't got there too often, but we went to kill some time and look at baby clothes for a baby shower she and I are going to this weekend.

This bag looks similar to the one Ken has so I picked it up to check it out. It's a laptop bag, but will work perfectly for Ken. I looked at the tag and thought, "Targus is a really good brand. I wonder how much this is".

$27.99 is a really great price on a bag like this. The Ross tag said Compare to $56.00, but I knew that couldn't be right. It seemed a little too underpriced to me.

So I got online and went to the Targus website.
It turns out that the SAME bag that is the SAME color with the SAME model number retails for...
(drumroll please)

Yep.
I.
Am.
Awesome.
Ken likes the bag and I am happy that I got it for $92.00 less than retail.

As a side post, Tank kept jumping into the pictures I was trying to take of Ken's new bag.

The woman that owned the home before us had a cat at some point in time. There is an automatic cat door on the door that goes into the kitchen from the garage.

Tanks uses it as his personal window to the world. If Ken is at work, Tank starts looking out the cat door about 10:00 p.m. to see if he's home yet. I am not joking either. It's pretty funny. Tank will "check in" on Ken.

Anyway, kind of dumb but I was cracking up at him last night when I was trying to get a photo of Ken's new AMAZINGLY AFFORDABLE organ bag.

Day 6 – A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet.

My animal isn't very exotic.
In fact, it's one I could go buy right now except I love my 12 year old little Yorkie, Tank, too much to freak him out with some canine competition. But, I ADORE the White West Highland Terrier. How could you not love this face?

And as a puppy? Almost as cute as Tank was as a puppy... almost.

Any how, maybe one day Ken and I will have one of these little guys. We'll see. But for now, we'll continue to play mom and dad to Tank and Sascha instead.

Day 5 – A photo of yourself two years ago.

You can click here to see what these daily posts are all about.

I don't have a photo of myself from two years ago, but I do have a picture of myself thanks to a former student of mine. Just in case you need clarification, I'm the one on the left with the black skirt and the obscenely large hair. It's pretty accurate, I must say! It's a favorite of mine that I've never thrown away. I still have it hanging in my classroom. I absolutely love it!

Day 4 – Your favorite photograph of your best friend.

Okay people... all of my "besties" hate having their pictures taken. I got on Facebook last night and tried to pull pictures off of a few peoples profiles, but it won't allow you to. So I am pictureless. Tiffany, Jamie and Kim... I tried, but it looks like you're off the hook!

My "eternal bestie" doesn't like his photo taken either.
Too bad for him because I have a few.

Oh well. Here's a really great one of him.

Truly, my favorite from the wedding was this one...

Our friend, Kim, was with us at the temple and she was cracking us up. It's her fingers you can see behind Ken's head. This face is classic Ken. I love it! When he really gets going, he throws his head back a little and has the cutest little laugh. I love this photo! It makes me smile every time I see it!

Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect date.

My idea of the perfect date.
Well, thankfully I don't have to get out there and date anymore in search of "Mr. Husband". Mission accomplished and I've got a good one! Ken and I still try to go out and do fun things like we used to. You know the usual dating routine... dinner and a movie. But Ken and I kind of ended the "traditional" dating routine even before we got married. We liked to go out to dinner and a movie but also loved to just run errands together or even stay in. I think that's one of my favorite things to do with Ken. Don't get me wrong... a nice dinner out and somewhere to go afterward is always fun! But after a long day at work, neither of us are usually in the mood to use up any energy we have by throwing ourselves back into society when all we really want to do is escape.

We had a great date last night!
After church, we went home and made dinner and had a great conversation through the whole thing. We ate together and then watched the remainder of Carrie (yes, the one with the blood dropping moment) and then made dessert together and watched Shrek. Yep, Shrek. No phone calls, no texting, and nowhere we had to be. Prefect!

Just being at home with my hubby is a pretty great date. We can both be ourselves, talk about anything, lounge in PJ's, and be as geeky as we want to be. What could be much better?

Day 2 – A photo of something you ate today.

If you're wondering what my random posts are all about, click here
That should explain it.

Day 2 is to post a picture of something I ate today.
Well, today I had my very first experience with...

Shake 'n Bake.
And not just Shake n' Bake, parmesan Shake n' Bake!!
Below is my pre-cooked shaken experiment.

Yes siree! I shook a little chicken and baked it. We topped it off with tomato sauce and provolone. I also cooked up some rolls. Yum!

Dinner is served!
Parmesan chicken, au gratin potatoes with peas for me and salad for Ken. Add the rolls and a Diet Coke and it becomes a completely balanced meal! Hee hee!

Oh yeah...
and for dessert, we made chocolate lava cake sundaes.
I think the cocoa beans really round out the meal. Legumes, right?

That's PLENTY of food, I'd say!

Day 1 - A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.

I took this photo of myself today.

I was sitting in my car waiting for Ken to come out of a managers meeting he had at work this afternoon. He didn't know I was waiting for him and he was supposed to be out by 4:00 p.m. I was getting pretty antsy by about 4:15 p.m.

Here's the lovely view from my car.

Ken's car is the green one. I was literally stalking my husband!

And WHY was I stalking him?
Well, there was a piece of mail in our mailbox this afternoon that I knew he would be VERY interested in. We weren't expecting anything in particular for another 5 weeks or so. But when I saw this, I couldn't wait for him to get home. I HAD to know what it said inside. And I couldn't read through the envelope - believe me I tried!!
(BTW... I photo shopped out our address - that why the envelope looks blank)

And who was this piece of mail from?

I waited and waited and waited for Ken to come out of the store. When I saw him I got out of my car and met him in the parking lot, camera in hand, to show him his letter. I think I scared him a little bit that I was unexpectedly there in the parking lot.

He quickly opened his letter.
The look on his face says it all.

Woot woot!
(insert the Hallelujah Chorus here)

This man is headed to grad school at BYU!

He was attached to that letter for quite a while today. Can you blame him? We are both so happy! He's worked really hard for this and is thrilled to begin his Master's program in the fall.

To continue our great day, we took my dad out to celebrate his 66th birthday. His official birthday was on February 8th but he and my mom have both been pretty sick. This was the first night everyone was healthy and our schedules lined up. Ken actually had the night off!

We went to PF Chang's in Orem.

Yeah. Nice. The picture below is of Ken flipping me the straw rather than the bird. It's obvious he loves me, don't you think?

Not much left to take a photo of. Our meal was delicious!

The whole gang...
Ken, me, mom , and dad.
Happy Bday, dad!

There you go!
My official post for day 1!
29 more to go.
