Well, today has been a good-for-nothing day. Wednesday we had temperatures in the 80's but it all changed overnight. There has been a huge ice storm come through the area. Most school districts, including mine, cancelled school today. The university that Ken attends also closed until Monday. I'm grateful because I really didn't want either of us to be driving in it.
This is a picture of my car's rear window on Thursday after school. It might look like water but it was solid, thick ice. Who took their snow scraper out of their car? This girl. Good thing another teacher was scraping off her windows as I was leaving. I borrowed hers.
This is one of the hedges at the house. Solid ice!
Poor Tank is not liking this. He slides all over.
It's breezy and cold and miserable outside.
We huddled together the potted bushes we have and covered them up. Hopefully it will keep them from freezing.
Here's a picture of the patio floor. Nothing but slick ice.
Ken stood on the front steps. The sleet had frozen solid a good 4-5 inches. He stood right on it and didn't even put a dent into it.
We talked about maybe venturing out tonight to grab something to eat and get out of the house for a little bit. After actually going outside, we quickly decided that was a BAD idea. So, we're stuck inside with the fireplace lit and planning on making gingerbread later. Not a bad way to spend a Friday night! We'll be warm, cozy, and guaranteed to not be involved in any traffic accidents!

CRAZY!! The weather is just getting you ready for Christmas!
