Day 10

Paris

This was one of my FAVORITE days!

We started off by going to Catholic Mass at Saint Sulpice Cathedral. Ken referred to this as his "pilgrimage" back to where his "organ roots" are. One of the organists that he really admires played the organ here for something like 60 years. Crazy! It was a beautiful building!

Ken was in organist heaven! There was an organ recital after the church service that was really nice to sit and listen to. It's amazing just how old the organ is, but how incredible it sounds!

We left Saint Sulpice and headed over on the train to the Eiffel Tower. We waited in line about 2 hours to buy tickets to ride the elevator up the tower. There were A LOT of people there!!

The view from the first level was amazing. It made me totally freak out though. It's a lot higher up than it looks. We had planned on going to the very top but Ken and I both decided that there was no way either of us could stomach it.

After coming down from the tower, we walked across the bridge to this building for pictures of the tower from more of a distance.

There is a lot of trash in Paris!

We decided to take a boat ride on the Seine to see some of the sights and get off our poor aching feet. This was the line we stood in for our boat. The dock was just across from the Eiffel Tower.

Our river cruise got us back to the Eiffel Tower just in time to watch it light up. Beautiful and romantic!

About an hour or so after it was lit, the tower "twinkles". It was nearly impossible to get a picture of it. We did get a little bit of video though. It was so beautiful! I didn't want to leave. I honestly could have stayed there another day. It was a little bit fairytale-ish.

This was one of my favorite days on the entire trip!
