149/365 - Cabin Sweet Cabin...

Today was a busy day. Originally, we were going to go to church and then head up to my parent's cabin to hang out for the day and then come home. Things didn't exactly work out that way. We ended up missing church to go up to the cabin (an hour and forty five minute drive each way) where we only stayed for 2 hours. We needed to get back earlier than we had planned because Ken got asked to sub on his off week at the MTC. Feeling obligated to be at the MTC, our time was cut short in the mountains. But we still had fun.

You can see our cabin with the green roof.

There's my dad!

Here's a picture of my cute mom and dad.
They were there along with my older brother and his four kids.

We went on a nice long 4 wheeler ride. Ken had never ridden one before. He had a ton of fun! He's mentioned that he wants to go back and stay a few days.

We drove all over the mountain and saw all kinds of things.

Me with my 12 year old nephew Wesley - he really wanted to come with us on what ended up being an hour and a half long ride. It was great to have him! He and I were able to talk about some concerns he has about his parents recent divorce.

Ken still having fun.

On a side note, I saw my dad today for the first time in a week and he looked like this...

The picture doesn't make it look as bad as he does in person. The man looks like he has had the snot beat right out of him. He has some cancer and precancerous spots on his face so the doctor prescribed a "chemo creme" that is supposed to take care of it. The side effect... a lot of redness that looks like bruising (even on his lip) and the appearance of black eyes. It's lovely. I was a little shocked to see him look so bad. I hope the medicine fixes the problem considering how awful it's making him look.

We had a great day at the cabin. We hurried home and had about 30 minutes to shower, pull ourselves together, and leave for the MTC. All in all, it was a a pretty great Sunday! Ken and I had a whole day of "us" time.
